FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONs

Some background
The idea of splatter painting is by no means new, but came to the forefront from Jackson Pollock, one of the world's most renowned abstract expressionist artists. He was recognised for pouring or splashing paint onto a horizontal surface, enabling him to view and paint his canvases from all angles. It was called all-over painting and action painting, since he covered the entire canvas and used the force of his whole body to paint, often in a frenetic dancing style. This extreme form of abstraction divided the critics, some praised the immediacy of the creation, while others derided the random effects. No matter what your view it's a fantastic, creative way to enjoy art and the fun painting.
As for throwing paint at each other instead, well there's nothing historical there, just friends being daft and enjoying themselves.
